IFSCA Course Terms and Policies
Commitment to the Course
By registering for an IFSCA course, participants acknowledge that the program requires a meaningful commitment of time, attention, and participation throughout its duration. Participants are responsible for reviewing the course schedule, requirements, and time commitments prior to registration and ensuring they are able to meet these commitments.
Participants are also responsible for ensuring they have reliable access to the necessary technology to participate in the course, including a stable internet connection, appropriate devices, and the ability to access and use the online platforms utilized by IFSCA. Technical or connectivity issues on the participant’s side do not constitute grounds for a refund.
IFSCA is not responsible for changes in a participant’s personal or professional circumstances, availability, or technological limitations after registration has been completed. Inability to participate for these reasons does not constitute grounds for a refund.
Refunds
Refund eligibility is based on the timing of the cancellation request relative to the first session date (as listed on the registration page):
* 100% refund: more than 30 days before the first session
* 50% refund: between 30 and 14 days before the first session
* No refunds: less than 14 days before the first session
All refund requests must be submitted in writing.
Refunds are not provided based on dissatisfaction with the course or where it does not meet personal expectations. Participants are encouraged to review all course information, including content, structure, and format, prior to registering to ensure the program is a suitable fit.
In rare cases involving significant and unavoidable circumstances that prevent participation in a substantial portion of the course, requests may be reviewed at IFSCA’s sole discretion. Such review does not guarantee a refund.
By completing registration, participants confirm that they have reviewed the course requirements and agree to these terms.
Transfers
Transfer requests must be made up to 30 days before the course begins.
Transfers can only be completed if there is an available space in the requested cohort at the time of the request. If the cohort is full, transfers are not possible. If a spot becomes available at a later time, it will be reopened for registration and filled on a first-come, first-served basis.
Participants may request to be added to a waiting list for a full cohort. This list includes both individuals who are not yet registered and those already enrolled in a different cohort. Placement is not guaranteed, and no priority is given.
Participants who are already registered and wish to move to another cohort must register for the new cohort and request cancellation of their original registration. Direct transfers are not available in these cases.
This process helps ensure fairness for all participants.
Eligibility
Participants are responsible for ensuring they meet the course eligibility requirements. IFSCA reserves the right to refuse or cancel registration if a participant does not meet these requirements.
Participation and Conduct
IFSCA reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to refuse, cancel, or deny registration, and to remove a participant from the program at any time if their behaviour is deemed disruptive, inappropriate, or detrimental to the learning environment or to other participants.
In such cases, registration fees will not be refunded, and the participant will not be eligible to receive a Certificate of Completion.
No refunds will be issued in cases where a participant is removed or their registration is canceled due to a breach of these terms, including but not limited to misrepresentation or failure to meet eligibility requirements.
Attendance and Completion
* Participants are expected to attend all scheduled sessions.
* Participants who miss up to two sessions may still be eligible to receive a Certificate of Completion.
* If more than two sessions are missed, participants may complete a maximum of two make-up sessions in order to meet completion requirements. These sessions are not included as part of the course and must be arranged independently by the participant.
* Make-up sessions must be conducted with a member of the program’s support staff and include at least one additional participant. All aspects of the session—including scheduling, coordination, and payment—are the responsibility of the participant, and any associated costs must be covered by the participant. Make-up sessions are subject to staff availability.
* Each make-up session must be completed within two months of the missed session.
* Certificates are issued only upon meeting attendance and completion requirements as defined in this policy.
Certification and Scope of Practice
Upon successful completion of the course, participants will receive an IFSCA Certificate of Completion and may use the designation “IFS Informed.”
IFSCA is an independent training organization and is not affiliated with or accredited by the IFS Institute. Completion of this course does not confer certification as an IFS Therapist, nor does it grant any formal professional credential beyond the Certificate of Completion issued by IFSCA.
Participants are responsible for practicing within the scope of their existing professional qualifications, licensing, and applicable regulations. While the course is designed to provide a comprehensive and experiential foundation in IFS principles, the application of these skills in professional practice remains the responsibility of the participant.
Course Materials and Access
* All course materials are provided digitally through the student portal. No physical materials are distributed.
* Session recordings are available for viewing within the portal and are not downloadable. Other written materials may be downloaded for personal use.
* Participants will retain access to the student portal for a period of 6 months following the conclusion of the course.
Use of Materials
All course materials are provided for personal use only. Participants may not reproduce, distribute, share, record, or use course content for commercial or training purposes without prior written permission from IFSCA.
Recording and Consent
By participating in the course, participants acknowledge and consent to the recording of sessions where applicable. These recordings may be shared with other participants in the cohort as outlined in this policy.
Participants are not permitted to record any sessions without prior written consent from IFSCA.
Fees and Payments
All fees are charged in Canadian dollars. Participants are responsible for any applicable transaction fees, currency conversion fees, or charges imposed by their financial institution or payment provider.
Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, IFSCA shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from participation in the course. Participation is at the participant’s own risk.
Professional Responsibility
This course is educational in nature and does not constitute therapy, supervision, or clinical certification. Participants are responsible for practicing within the scope of their professional qualifications and applicable regulations.
Course Changes
IFSCA reserves the right to make reasonable changes to course content, schedule, or faculty where necessary.
Platform and Technical Access
IFSCA is not responsible for temporary technical issues, platform interruptions, or service disruptions beyond its control.
Entire Agreement
These terms constitute the entire agreement between the participant and IFSCA and supersede any prior communications, representations, or agreements.
Non-Transferability of Registration
Course registrations are non-transferable and may not be assigned, shared, or transferred to another individual.
Accuracy of Information
Participants confirm that all information provided during registration, including details of their background and experience, is true and accurate. IFSCA reserves the right to refuse or cancel registration if information is found to be false, misleading, or incomplete.
Governing Law and Jurisdiction
These Terms shall be governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of the Province of British Columbia and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of British Columbia.
